Greek Style Lamb Pitas

Ingredients

  • 400 to 450 g (about 0.9 lb) Québec lamb cubes
  • 1 cup (250 ml) plain yogurt
  • ½ tsp (2.5 ml) turmeric
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) cumin
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) dried oregano
  • 1 cup (250 ml) cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 lemon
  • ½ large yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 Lebanese cucumbers, thinly sliced
  • 1 bunch of mint and oregano, chopped
  • 2 to 4 pita breads, cut in half to form pockets
  • ½ cup (125 ml) crumbled feta
  • ½ cup (125 ml) plain yogurt

Preparation

  1. Combine the lamb cubes with the cup of yogurt and the spices. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Marinate for at least 1 hour.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  4. Spread the lamb cubes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, depending on the size of the cubes.
  5. Serve the lamb cubes with the other ingredients in the center of the table and let everyone assemble their own pitas.

Place all the ingredients in the center of the table and let everyone build their own pita.
