  • 500 g (1 lb) lamb steaks (shoulder, leg or neck)
  • 125 ml (½ cup) sour cream
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 8 tortillas

Spicy Sauce

  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 1 jalapeno pepper
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) coarse salt
  • The juice of one lime
  • 1 bunch of cilantro

  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 pinch Cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • The juice of one lemon
  • 2 tbsp tequila (optional)

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  1. Prepare the spicy sauce. Finely dice the tomatoes, onion and pepper. Add the rest of the ingredients and refrigerate until ready to use.
  2. Mix all the ingredients of the marinade and add the lamb. Let sit for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator (or prepare the day before).
  3. Drain the meat and grill in the oven or on the barbecue.
  4. Slice the lamb into strips or cubes.
  5. In the center of each warm tortilla, place some lamb, onions and sliced avocado, 1 tbsp of spicy sauce and 1 tbsp of sour cream.
  6. Present the tortillas rolled with additional sour cream and spicy sauce on the side.

Chef’s Tip

For a mild sauce, you can replace the jalapeño pepper by half a teaspoon of paprika.
